One of my favorite dates.... although 1/11/1111 would be even better...

Last night's raid was a great time! The healers and decursers did an amazing job with the targeting issues blizzard is having right now. FWIW, I'm using x-perl and didn't have any problems targeting (or seeing the targets) of any mobs we faced last night. Since I gave up healing, I don't really have to target anyone in the raid, but x-perl does have some nice raid frames that might avoid blizzard's issues.

Sorry I had to duck out on the attempts at Kruul. But by midnight, I'm exhausted (working 12 straight hours with no breaks will do that to you). Did you guys manage to get him killed? or at least moved away from IF?

Okay, back to grading...

Pretty stale night for me (healing in a protection spec sucks balls), tho I did win that sexy cape, and tanking noth is always fun.

I'm looking forward a lot more to today, can't wait to kite the gluth zombies.

P.S. I had no portrait/targetting issues being modless. Well itemrack is the only mod I use anymore, and that doesn't cause any problems.

We got him moved down the hill some and I think got him to 50% (maybe lower). However the lag was horrible so I think the healers were having a helluva time healing. The server eventually crashed on our last attempt so many of us are lying on the hill to IF awaiting a rez.

On top of which every nimrod and their brothers were there "trying" to help out, thus they were getting run over and healing him up. He really would be a cake walk to kill (his health drops uber fast) but I think Blizzard had this in mind when they let him loose, ie him killing all the nubs who want to see him thus making it very hard to finish him off.

I still had fun trying to get him down and though it is frustrating, I applaud Blizz for little events like this. I was really hoping the scourge event would be more like this. The mobs running through cities WTF owning anything and everything for a while. If it is going to be a war, I like it when the other side actually mounts an offensive.

Naxx was fun as usual. Disappointed the UI problems and bad luck kept us from getting Raz down. Hopefully they hot fix the crap so we can down him tonight.

Btw I was using AG unit frames and had no problems with it. However I was having a problem targeting using the CT raid bars. Not that it matters to me since I don't click on anyone during the raid.

Why were you healing Goe? Was it because we only had 4 priests? I figured you had respec'd for whatever reason and that is why you kept throwing out heals.

Jedic
Jan 11, 2007, @ 12:23 PM
Yeah, I think I'm turning off ctraid when I log in tonight... I don't use any parts of it (I'm using bigwigs for boss timers)... I'm using less and less of ctmod too... I used to use their bar mod, but when they took so long updating it after the 2.0 patch, I got used to using blizzard's bars again (although i like the scalability of the ctbars)...

I'm a lot more interested in the new instances and getting to level 70 as soon as fucking possible.

Kruul cost me more gold then the entire Naxx run.

I was using X-perl yesterday and I didn't had any targeting problem, abd trust me I click a lot on the raid frame (well the xperl one, not CT nor Blizz).

Doing some overtime tonight so I won't be there, I hope you guys will crush Gluth. Maybe I'll manage to be home fast enough to give a hand or at least hear everyone scream when he will be down.

Barry Bonds failed a drug test? What are the odds...? :P

Run on Kruul sounds like good stuff. Sorry I missed that. No WoW at all for me last night. I put my daughter to bed last night and fell asleep at 9pm. I'm not sure I've woken up yet....

On the topic of Bonds. I love how he blamed it on a teammate but then the guy he blamed it on basically calls him a liar. Ill have to see what the guys on PTI have to say about it.

It's also BS that McGwire did not get voted into the Hall of Fame.

Grats Dalmar!

I haven't decided if I am going to raid or not yet, will probably be a wait and see type thing. I hate the grind so raiding my be a good break from that.

As I said on another board, how stupid can Bonds be to keep blaming other people for his failures. First it was the cream that he didn't realize was steroids, now he is popping pills from someone else's locker and blaming it on them. Dude needs to own up to his own shortcomings. What is worse, is that he was on his way to a HOF career before he started beefing up.

Hatchet what level is the Druid? I might have some free time this weekend to level with you now that the GF is happy that we are going to Vegas. Nief do you have to take the wife to see shows while you are out there? If so which ones are you going to go see? We were going to hit up "Love" but it won't be on the nights we are there, so instead it looks like "Phantom of the Opera". Also, any good restaurants? This trip is basically for V-Day so rather than the usual grub I figure we should eat nice once.

I thoroughly enjoyed Overlord's romp through Iranforge last night! I hopped over onto Poindexter to watch the fireworks when he first spawned and promptly ate a shadowbolt volley. Good times! The laughter was totally worth the $15 I spent on renewing.

Thumbs up to whoever kited him to the Great Forge for his showdown with Bronzebeard. The dead bodies and bones littered throughout the city are a welcome addition and a heartwarming sight!

I hope teh Hore can muster a better defense! :P

Edit: "Ratchetface" is level 15.

I have mixed feelings on Big Mac seeing as how I am a Cardinals fan. I want him to get in, but I am also very disappointed how he showed his ass during the Congressional hearings. I think he probably could have done just as well without the pills (see his rookie season), but since the circumstantial evidence points to him popping it irks me. I know it was against baseball's rules but thats because baseball needed all the excitement it could handle during the 90's thanks to the labor disagreements.

telva
Jan 11, 2007, @ 01:58 PM
I doubt it. I wanted to kite him to the UC last night but the lag would have made it impossible. I think the thing that should help the horde is the lower population. Last night after midnight there were still lowbies running around intentionally dying which basically resets him. Has he left IF yet?

Hatchetface
Jan 11, 2007, @ 02:05 PM
They took the Eastern Kingdoms down to remove him (and the bones) from Ironforge last night during your attempt.

Maybe he'll show up outside a Horde city tonight. I'm sure the same thing would happen to Orgrimmar.

Some people were saying that you're supposed to use the tabard recieved from the Argent Dawn from killing invading felguards at the Dark Portal. Any truth to that?

I just find it hypocritical that the sports writers that were writing daily stories about how Mac and Sosa were basically the best thing to happen to baseball during that summer when they were both chasing the record will now pull a 180 and villify the man. I remember it well you couldn't turn around or watch tv without hearing about the two of them and they would even cut away from scheduled programming when either of them were at bat.

But now those same people develop this set of morals and are willing to let their former golden boy hang because he took a substance that was at the time perfectly legal for him to be using.

telva

I don't know Hatchet. Like I said, we could have owned him had we not gotten outside interference. Griefing from the Horde is one thing, its almost what is supposed to happen, but griefing from alliance is a whole other level of asshattedness.

The sports writers will claim that they supported the 2 of them because they didn't know they were on the juice. Even though they discovered the adnro whateverthefuckitscalled in his locker and called Mac out on it.

True! I will try to get all the prequests done by a reasonable time tomorrow night and be ready for the 5-manning later friday and all weekend long. If there's a run organized before I'm done with the prequests, then I'll still probably come along. Note though - I will be playing with my bro all weekend. I've actually come to rather enjoy scholomance, at least more than I used to. I'd like to run it a few times ... plus the wand that drops off gandling would be a nice pick-up for cura, who needs maybe another 50 damage gear here and there + enchants to get over 700 spell damage.

Honestly, though, I kinda need to find help if he's going to level any sooner than June or July. Heh.

tbch, i love teaching... i can't imagine ever having any other job... although i do teach mostly the same classes from year to year (Honors Precalculus and BC Calculus), each year is a new adventure with new students and new things that i try and do in each class... i haven't had a day in the last 9 years (at this school) where i woke up in the morning and dreaded going to work... so i feel pretty lucky...

Two of my 4 favorite teachers in HS were my Honors Precalc and my Calc BC teachers (two diff guys).
I'll never forget that after the Calc BC exam there were about 3 weeks left in the school year. The teacher gave the students two options.
They could write a report on some famous dead mathematician. They would not have to come to class anymore, and just had to hand in a 2 pager after the 3 weeks.
The other option was to come to class and get a crash course on ODEs - ordinary differential equations. Obviously, only the really hardcore math nerds would stay for the ODEs. That included myself and like 3 other guys.
I remember that those 3 weeks prepared me SO well for my first math class in college. I ended up being able to skip a whole year of engineering calc and start as a sophomore. Those 3 weeks gave me SUCH a head start on that class... I ended up kicking serious ass. Mr Silverstone... what a kickass teacher!
Anyhow - I don't know why I'm waxing reminiscent.

People that don't like math don't know what they're missing. I always loved math. Unfortunately I somewhat shot myself in the foot in HS by alienating the ONLY teacher that taught a course above Algebra II. I had to get my upper math myself or in college, and the college instructors I had were researchers, not teachers... if you get what I mean. Math jokes are pretty bad though... almost as bad as Econ. ;)
