View Full Version : Clan SOLID scrim

Myself, m0rpheus, and Fell had a few games against a clan called SOLID, who seemed to talk a lot of shit in the lobby about being the best clan in DoW. They were suprisingly very nice and polite ingame, never complained, and complimented us on our game. Very nice, and the kind of people I like to play even if they arent the most skilled (for the record, they didnt give us much of a challenge). Per their request, I went to their forums http://www.clansolid.com/ and posted about a scrim. I suggested that it take place this Sunday, January 16th, at 4:00 PM EST. This is 100% debatable and I only said this to get the ball rolling. If anyone has a better time, please feel free. I also suggested a pair of 3v3s and a 4v4, and best out of 3 wins. Any suggestions from those of you interested, as well as SOLID, are greatly appreciated. I wanna get this going since the one against Baptized By Fire didn't go off so well...yet. Anyhow, and information, or ideas on the setup for this would be nice. Thanks guys.

Count me in for a scrim. Also, I can modify my router settings to let my computer act as a host if we want a private scrim, unharmed by gamespy.

thats cool, but im not sure they even know about TCP/IP hosting... itd be best to do the simple route and just do it through gayspy. so thats me and you for the scrim. we need more people!

lol I'm in. I(we've) never lost a game that a SOLID member's been a part of.
Except for one of our Crazy Booty Games that Dibs, Fell, and I play... which is a 3vs5 quickstart. ;) A SOLID was one of the 5, and got a weak t&h victory on us after we bashed them and smashed them and gave no ground at all on the map for close to an hour.

lol guys, there is no doubt in my mind that we can beat them, this is just for some fun, getting out names out there as a good clan, etc. Ill post fell, mistress, and myself up as confirmed participants. everyone elsep lease confirm :D
P.S. fell, one of the guys in SOLID says you are a very good player. Even though you didnt show it in the games we played vs solid (your full potential) you still played well and he remembers you were good before he was solid. :D

Laser i can show up if it is required, but unless I have just played allot of weak SOLID or they were off their game on all three occasions should we not try to modify this into training ? I have nothing against trying our best I am just saying unless I have been mislead as to the maxium skill of SOLID perhaps we should try our hand with our intermediate and beginner members.

I was saying that to Fell at first, and it was 100% my intention to let our moderate skill players take on SOLID. but here are the reasons that MAY not work
1. We simply dont have enough people. Look at who has confirmed that they
can play. not many...
2. I feel we have an obligation to SOLID to give them a good game. I'd hate
to be selfish and throw our weaker players at them and not give them
the good game that they deserved and asked for. We could let our
less skilled players give it a go, and possibly win, but could they not get
similar training from random games, or games vs clans in the lobby? :-P
I know that SOLID isnt that good, but we need to start organizing SOME
scrims, and at least give them a nice fun game and a learning experience.
See where I'm coming from?

Unless i'm wrong BBF is set for the 15th at 18:00 GMT. So that gives us at most three hours to finish up for everything and setup for SOLID.

Just an excerpt from an email I got from Titan. If anyone could possibly decipher it's meaning, I would appreciate it.
Titan wrote:
huh sorry about this but we won't play if you try to back up your
Eldar with Marines like BBF does all the time. I have no reason to
believe you would I haven't seen this yet out of your people.
My response:
I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. Is there something wrong with playing a team with a combination of Eldar and Space Marines? I really don't see your argument here, but that's okay. We don't use any cheap tactics to play the game, and if you want us to play certain races, go ahead. We don't need to play our best races to win.
In a word; wtf?

I dont have a clue to what they are implying other then BBF use eldar and marines and perhaps have beat SOLID a number of times? I honestly dont see anything wrong with that combo other then you can have banshees backed up by tacs or asm backed by reapers. The only horrible thing that i can think of that could be imbalanced is a dual scout and webway rush. That could come from a SM/Eldar team and having few holes in the vehicle tree that can be exploited.

On Solids website I noticed they have a Teamspeak Server Status Link. O.o Wouldn't that be sweet? We would know who's online, we would improve our gaming experience and everyone can afford a cheap headset. :-) Anyway looking forward to this scrim. Been practicing alot with [TLSC] Neph, seRv3ot and N0ble. Have we figured out what the teams will be. I'd like to have some games with the team I'll be playing with.

Since the scrim was moved 2 hours, to 7 GMT, I will be able to take full action in it.
On the matter, who will be my partners, eh? ;)

Abyss, we do have our own Teamspeak server. it's IP is 67.19.48.36:8826 used to be used by most TLSC back before i stopped playing for a while. dunno if anyone uses it now.
