So the lock was successfully twinked through WC and SFK(2x) yesterday. He gained a total of 2 levels and alot of gold and sellable items, but little usable gear...for now. I thank Waib for dual boxing the twinking. His priest leveled 2x and got some stuff himself. Jamie of course should have joined us earlier because he could have racked up the phat loot for his Shammy.

Tonight I won't be doing anything with the guild :p I have real life obligations (same for next Wednesday), I have a birthday function and a work function tonight. So whatever you do, have fun, and remember we are a guild so sponsor guild activities by showing up and participating. I have been sort of slack about it myself and so I am chastising myself as well.

To all you bastards who are done with school....I hate you. I have another 10 days of work before my vacation so I am jealous as hell.

To all the women out there, why do you suck? Why oh why do you have to remember every detail of the past and not let stupid shit go? Is that our punishment for eating the apple you gave us? (No PMs please about what is wrong and if things are ok, there is no need)

Morning all. Women don't fight fair, and they know they don't have to. Most of the women I've known also don't pull punches in fights... again because they know they generally don't have to. We can't REALLY win in the short run OR the long run. May as well get used to losing or being lonely. :P Heh, no offense ladies!

How was the "honor train" last night? ;) Still successful even under the nerfed honor awards? I missed the train last night. I got home around 9pm from a late dinner to discover that my grandfather went into the hospital, so I headed right back out.

Telva are you leveling Horde for the heck of it or for a particular reason? Just wondering. I pretty much dropped mine when Slaire outleveled me. (not hard to do) Wouldn't mind picking it back up again if you want a playing partner around level 30. If not that or raiding, the honor grind beckons.

There were a couple of "honor trains" last night. I was in the "Alterac Valley" version, and Hatchetface would have thrown up in his mouth: We went 7-1 against the Horde.

The only Horde win was the one time they didn't try to exploit. Every other time, they spent ages trying to solo pull the boss, and we'd just fearbomb/wipe them over and over again until our team won.

I am leveling my lock for a couple of reasons:

a) it is something completely different. It uses mana (I guess it does, I rarely have to drink) and it has a pet.

b) from a PvP perspective they have always interested me. Something about the dot curse deathcoil fear dot death combination caught my eye.

c) I have never leveled a horde toon past 16 and had never been in a horde instance. In the last 2 weeks I have been to Ragefire Chasm, WC, and SFK. I really like SFK but nothing so far can hold the deadmines' jock.

d) to get away from the alliance side. There is alot to say about doing stuff without the noise and hassle that alliance side brings. I am a loner in real life so being on the other side where few ppl know who am I has its pluses. Heck I joined a guild last night, and I think I am going to drop out of it today because I actually was distracted by the green text.

I will hop back on the honor train tomorrow especially since it seems we are going back to more WSG. I played a little AV yesterday and it was fun playing defense. You get alot more action there and I tried playing different. Rather than being a battering ram I hung back and guarded flags away from the main group. It worked well and I ended up #1 in KBs and had fewer deaths, plus the D totally wtf owned the horde and we won before they capped the Aid Station.

Btw, Hobben, you should really really get the GM 2H Mace especially since you want to respec MS for a bit for PvP. The mace spec proc is so much better than 5 crit with the polearm especially since it gives rage when it procs.

Heya gang,

Just to let you know, a hotfix for Mace Spec should be going in sometime soon that should increase the rage awarded on proc, but lower the proc rate.

The proc should roughly be 11% with a 3.80 speed weapon, 8% with a 2.80 speed, and 4% with a 1.70 speed.

The rage awarded should now be 6 points on proc.

The tooltip will reflect this in a future patch.

Once again, you can't trust blue, but either way it is still good.

Hobben
Dec 13, 2006, @ 03:09 PM
True but if his numbers are right, and the people that say the current proc rate is around 30%ish(blue posted on the actual rate it was 32%) its a pretty good nerf. And it might not be way better then sword or axe spec anymore.

So assuming BLUE is not pulling our leg, yeah its a nerf, but it still procs more then swrod spec based on the %, but then again I would think sword spec would do more "damage". Mace spec is like what a 3sec stun?

hob

telva
Dec 13, 2006, @ 03:27 PM
Hrmm, I think I like this change more than the current way it works. Though it won't stun as often, we will be able to perform a higher damage move while the stun is in effect (weapon damage + 6 rage). It iwll be interesting to see how it works once implemented.

telva
Dec 13, 2006, @ 03:28 PM
Yes sword spec will do more damage, but in PvP it isn't always about doing damage. Heck Waib could probably heal himself through a shit ton of damage, but if he is stunned he isn't healing which means he could die.

I still haven't been through RFC or WC at level, and my only trip through SFK was a guided tour. You're right about the Deadmines. My jaw actually dropped when I first saw the pirate ship. Good times. I still haven't seen about a third of the instances in the game and it's always fun to see something new.

Actually, your reasons make a pretty good argument for playing over there as a "break" from Alliance level 60 play. I originally made my lock there to play with the guild of folks that got me to join Dalaran in the first place. (after they switched from Alliance to Horde) I mostly had to solo to catch up though, and I got bored with the grind. A dozen levels of spamming the same 3 DoT's and having my VW tank got really old, even if it was safe and effective.

Oh, you'll burn through mana a lot faster when you start engaging 2-3 mobs at a time, or at least I did.

I am leveling my lock for a couple of reasons:

a) it is something completely different. It uses mana (I guess it does, I rarely have to drink) and it has a pet.

I had a lot of fun leveling my shaman for a lot of these same reasons. I figured I had been paying $15 a month to see 1/2 a game. It is pretty cool play the game from the other side of the fence.

There really is a different culture no Horde side. I started my shaman on Dalaran but since transferred him to another server. You'll find out later that LBRS is used a lot more. The Onyxia key chain, imo, is much cooler than it is for alliance. Alliance has a cool "story" behind it, but with the horde version you get to kill dragons all over the globe.

It's also pretty cool to try to find the "horde" version of quest 'x'. There are some that are the same and some not-so-much.

If you created this character on Dalaran, you'll have the added adventure of getting yourself to Gadget or STV so that you can smuggle goods over.

If you're not looking to experience every single detail of the horde quests, this leveling guide was invaluable to a hunter i had to bump up:

http://www.wow-pro.com/node/739

Jame's is all about efficient leveling through specfic questlines and a tad of grinding.
