View Full Version : Guild announcement 27/11/2006 - state of the guild

Alright, things aren't working out. Honestly, you'd have to be stupid not to spot that :P Some people have left, we've been having some shoddy raid turn-ups, and, generally, there's problems cropping up all over the place. In the end, it's culminated in me quitting the game for a week.
Why has this happened?
It's all down to what's been happening in Molten Core of late. We should have downed Ragnaros by now, yet we're struggling to down Sulfuron each reset. This is because of a lack of discipline. A lot of people just don't care - we've got a core of people who contribute every single raid, and who deserve the kills that we've been lacking, and we've got people hanging around the edges who find excuses to leave raids, don't bother signing, don't bother showing up, and generally slacking.
These people are the cause of our troubles. Wanting to leave to watch a fucking television programme, what the hell is that? Why do people not care enough to do that?
The reason is, until recently, I didn't realise where we were going.
I just saw lack of numbers for each raid as an isolated problem. Isolated? It happens every damn raid now. On the plus side, it's proven to us that despite all this we're STILL good enough to rip the shit out of Onyxia with 20 people, and that is a FANTASTIC achievement for a guild of our gear. WE went through and fucked Gehennas to Golemagg in ONE reset. We've proven we can do it, we just need to actually do it again.
Today's run was better. We got Sulfuron down again, for the first time in weeks. I missed the start, where apparently there were problems on lava packs, but Sulfuron went down.
We can pull through.
If this guild is to survive, I need all of your support. All of you who were thinking of throwing in the towel, we need you. I need you. I can finally see a way forward, thanks to my officers' input. Once we sort out the raid discipline... I'm not going to patronise you by saying everything will be absolutely fine, there'll still be some problems, but only as much as a normal guild suffers. And we'll be stronger for it.
We're not going to do this without your help. Attend every raid you can, do as we ask, and don't give up and leave. If you help, we WILL hit Ragnaros like a fucking bat out of hell and rip him to shreds. If you don't, that's it. We're finished.
This is the time to make or break the guild. Stand with us and be proud to wear the Chapter Two tag again, or give up and let your work drift away.
Your decision. Assist your officers, or don't give a shit and lose it, or leave and don't give any of us the chance to prove we can do this.
Kragoth.

I'd just like to add that today I was really close to leaving together with Qutech. The only reason why I would ever leave chapter was a girlfriend, and well there she was. However I decided to stay, I want to build this guild back to the way it was to be as great as we were back when we raped Hakkar and Lucifron and Magmadar and Gehennas and Garr, etc., etc., etc. So I decided to stay.
I apologize for not being able to do what I promised to do but I had a breakdown like Krag yesterday.
And for those that care, everything between me and Qutech is still allright (luckely) :).

These two speak the truth.
It's upsetting to see good good guild members into a bad state, Kragoth, Tootall, Qutech...it's sad to see, but even through these, piled up with the other major problems, we can do this, but you, the Chapter Two members, and quite bluntly, need to get your arse into gear and help us sort it out!
Either you do, you'll achieve a lot, or you don't, well, then, you're best eventually leaving if that's the case.
Sorry if this sounds too blunt, but sometimes you have to be to get a opinion across.

Well I'm still here. I'll join every raid and do as I usually do. Though I am still considering migrating to be with my friends.

I know how it can be if your the raid leader, even if you are just with a ( L ) before your name cause you forgot to give it away again, people still always come with all their problems to you, then people are talking normally to you aswell, and you are really tempered alot, jokes are irritating and far from funny, then people go afk, leave, whatever happens, and stuff like banishing late, whatever reasons of stuns or that it resisted, are looking like its really the warlocks fault in those cases, its just a bit hard to find the solution to why it isn't banished that they usually get the blame from me, im sorry for that. Its alot to take you know, Tootall and Kragoth have been doing this sindce ages, so you should respect them doing this, and not do stuff like leave for a television program :(
Also, why are almost no people signing, atleast sign if you can't join with the reason why not imo, atleast we know you are dedicaded to us.
Besides, if you complain about low progressing, blame -=YOURSELF ONLY=- because, if we'd all come to raids, have atleast 35 people everytime, and people stayed untill the end of the raid, then we'd be taking on vaelstraz by now, wouldn't you like that? then start getting more dedicated and help us out! :)
Myself, i could do a bit more cheering actually, hell, i think i'll start that now :>

We're not enforcing people to get more active, we just want people to do whatever they can whenever they can. And not go watch a documentary instead of staying till the end of the raid.

Get More Active PPL! :D
Heh, yeh, im kidding.
I only wish everyone would WANT to make it for just a weekend, so that they can freakin understand that it really is in our hands to obliterate Raggy as an obstacle.

Recently we've had even more recruits in the last 2 weeks, than we have in like...3 months?
This is a promising start, in itself, sure, might not be perfect and all, but they're additions and we're giving them the chances to join our community and have fun while they're on the side job! :P.
TooTall

Yeah recruitments are going up. Just need some more members of several key classes and since we stil need priests I decided to stick to mine for atleast a little longer.

Wel i want to do more raids and stuff but with my work (i work from 5 till 13 and the other weak from 13 till 21)it is difficult to do full raids :( .
So if you don't mind me leaving at 21u30 - 22u (because i got to get up at 4o'clock)you can count on me.
For me my kids and wife comes first that is why i don't want to join a hardcore guild.
I hope you understand my position.

IMO if we make some changes in the communication, i think the raids will be more diciplined. with that i mean that no other then the officers can talk on VT...at any time. and if other guildies want something to be said, they should /w an officer.
this way the raids will be less noisy and it will be easier to focus on the task ahead.
it also makes it easier to hear the tactics.
i know that we are a social guild, like Krag and other officers and non-officers have mentioned, but if we want to get futher in raids we need this.
OFC this is only my opinion :P don't mean to be a joykiller of any kind:S
gamecard expired, will get new one when i can afford one :(

hmmm
We have a base of 25-30 people that raids often, and helps the guild progress... So let's just wait 1.5 month and do 25mans.
And if we are this few people, then why arent we doing AQ20 more? We still haven't killed Ossirian (or ayamiss?) Then let that be our goal before TBC.

Well, my reason for leaving is that i take every problem personal (stupid I know) and I've realized is that my problem isn't chapter drama, but raid drama.
And I've I'm not going to join fuireux... I'm gonna stay in We blame Silkar and fish... I like fishing...

Indeed, its make or break time for this guild.
Ill get my act together and start signing for raids again, i know im guilty of turning up and not signing. Im trying to be as active as i can at this moment, but being swamped by school-work makes it a little difficult to attend more than 2 or 3 raids a week. :(
I want this guild to survive. I NEED it to, because, quite frankly, i couldnt survive in any other guild. Im not hardcore; i cant raid every night of the week into the small hours and i would get bored not raiding at all. If this guild dies, my playtime will die with it.

Ill try to sign more often also, but only time will show if ill manage. As of from the 8th of december im done with school for this semester, and all efforts are on work and wow :) Would be very sad to see such a great bunch of players get spread out to different guilds, good post btw..

Like john said, indeed, some people that do not do their best now, will probably not be raiding in TBC, <3 blizzard for 25 mans, i really like that.
And most people of the seargent & up will rape trough the 5 / 10 mans within weeks, i don't see the bad thing about us not having cleared BWL, raiding shouldn't be in BWL for us imo, its a waste of our time, lets just take it easy and only raid the old instances + mc, let kill rag be the last goal we have before TBC, those epics + enchants are wasted in 1.5 month.

Why don't we do it for fun? Prove we can actually rape some BWL bosses. You can have way more fun in BWL then in MC and isn't fun what we're all raiding for anyway? Besides, non of the gear and enchants we get now are a waste since you'll use them to lvl/do the 60+ instances in TBC.

Bingo
Blackwing Lair shows the true skill of a guild, from the individual to working as a team, to working as a full team.
I'd love to return to Blackwing Lair and kick Razorgore's ass!

He's basically a much harder version of General Drakkishi (sp), with a extra Multi Fireball, and everything else is just drakki, only harder hitting, much harder hitting...
The first stage is fun, and if you pass that with 95% of your 40 raid members alive, you got the kill, cause at that rate, everyone will know that most BWL bosses are untauntable, and patience before dps and steady healing is required, while the two tanks build aggro, and usually ya MT will be conflag'd till there's no tommorow :)
Anyways, enough of my babbling spoilers, already went off-topic as it is.

You know, we healers love it when people compliment us. Why? Because it happens so rarely.
You always compliment the people on the top of the Damage Meters, but the healers? Nah, they're just... there.
So really, thanks n_n

As some off u might have noticed, i havent singed for a single raid so far.
My reason for not signing is that i can't fill the requrements for the sign's.
I can rarly stay overtime, and i can hardly stay full time either.
Why? I got to go to school (need atlest 7 h of sleep or im more dead than alive) and a sometimes VERY unstable connection. Sometimes i get dc'ed like every 30 seconds. therefor i dont want to take a spot that someone who can fill the requiremnts can. I'd love to sign (extra points!), but it would make me feel like a lier , and i dont like that.
i also got verly little WoW time in the weekdays (hw, wint-tsun practise, RL friends), so i cant regularly attend to raids on weekday evenings.
Now u know this and I hope u can understand my situation.

I have made a promise to myself to start rading more.
I'm at the moment not rading much at all, like once a month.
I'll start rading at least once every 2:nd week
So soon you will get much better..... beacuse of me.....

Hey guys I nearly topped Cuttroat in DPS the other time...
Thats worth a compliment aswell :)
Anyway, i get saved by the healers quite often, fragile rogues, bah, without them dispelling me, decursing me, and de-poisening me, i would not do half as good, look at lucifron for example, hi hi 120 energy backstabs if im cursed, 85 for a SS, thats like, a major nerf, mages can decurse me with a click, dumping their dps for the better good of the raid dispelling the healers + dps etc,
