Agreed on the Megadeth DJ. My cruising CD has Mega, Metallica, Linkin Park, Korn, Godsmack, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickle Back, and a few others. The Cd Player in my car does mp3s, so i get more than just 20 on a cd.

I have a 40 gig iPod and have my entire CD collection on it and it only takes up like 6 gig, lol. Some temporary worker that was working with me one day found it at the bus stop and thought it was a cigarette holder. I made him put up signs around the bus stop area and if no one came forward I would give him $100 bucks for it. Two weeks later I paid him.

Some of my fav's;

lots of music and style is just invented by accident

they have told me that Ska originated from the carribian , the people then where all into the Raggae craze and listened to it on cheap transistor radios .

When they tried to copy the music on the islands , to play it live on their instruments ,they got the rhitme backwards and eventually the band even speed up the music . ta da a new style was born .

its not the only one

hip hop originated from a discosong - rapper's delight

house music originated from a chicago Gay danceclub called the Warehouse , they combined european new beat with gospel influences .

techno was invented when they tried to play Discosongs backwards

dancehall mucis and Jungle (drum&bass) have semilar stories

omegachiken

also forgot to add

PapaRoach-getting away with murder

Slipknot-Duality

Classic rock, oldies, contemporary country
Lonestar, Sister Hazel (their older stuff), Sublime

Anything hard and angry pisses me off and causes me to break the CD the sound is coming from. Newer punkie stuff like Blink is ok b/c they've refined the sound the "originals" came up with to the point where it's not just crappy individuals trying to make new music and only getting rep anymore from people who think the "originals" are better just b/c they're original, and not b/c they actually sound better. To be honest, though, I'm a fan of feel-good music.

Pump-me up music? Nah. Angry, metal-style music? No fuckin' way. Anything rap? Shoot me now. Gimme Lonestar, Garth Brooks, Sister Hazel, or any of many others any day of the week. My burnt CD's reflect this, with occasional Sublime and other bands thrown in for flavor.
