Just thought i would post here and say a big hello to everone i know/knew. Have been away and out of contact with alot of you for many many years.. like 4 or something! amazing huh!

Special hello for stealth and claps to you for still being alive! Have already caught up with MvB and SnowWolf.. sps .. psy what should i call you now?

does anyone have any old snap shots from cataclysm? please post them i would dearly love to see them! and if they say staticguru/static has won all the better!!!! haah! (they cant of been that rare, where they!)

I feel all nostalgic! post here and let me know what your all up to please! Who would have thought tlsc would have gotten so big??? i never would have guessed when it all began! congrats to mvb and stealth!

I remember those good old days when HWC really rocked. Probably the best online game i have ever been involved in as the community was excellent :)

Are you playing any HW2 Static? If so - you should hook up with some of us in there sometime.

I did leave Chicken over a year ago to join the revered Demon Clan. Actually - got kicked out of Chiken is much more accurate!!

i have hw:2. i played it online a couple of times.. didnt really like though. may log on tonite if your about. probably in the next 2 hours when i finish work!

btw: could you be the only person ever kicked out of chiken? how? was there even a leader? haha!

:halt: I was most active before then dude. But tbh, i would only call momo "uberpwning" (not sure i would use that phrase though tbh - when did 'own' change into 'pwn' ?) also, i lost tonnes but won loads too :blink: thanks.

LOL i remember when dark first started - me and ratamaq used to play against him 2v2 and that dude lost so bad, so much, but he just kept coming. wanting more and more and then before me or rat could say "hi" he was a kickass player! dark was cool! Never met faramir. FunMan was good but the true greats from FSI were sleet and Mr.Book.

ooh and i just won my first 1v1 on hw:2. yay!

I should really come back to HW2 more often, but it feels so bad to know that the time of my prime in that game has passed... :boohoo:

I remember the one time when I beat momo in 2vs2, when my fighters slammed on that crystal and the little rock exploded starting a chain reaction, it felt so good.

Oh yes, actual geek noob language uses pwn instead of own.. I asked no questions and conformed, after all it makes no difference no?

reads to me more like someones finger slipped when they were typing but they were too cool for school, so it caught on. I have only been online again 5 months or so after a 2 years absence (well i had the net for 2 months during that time i think) - It took me a while to realize it was intetional, but after reading 'pwn!' WTFPWNAGE' and the likes numerous time, i got the idea. i will not comform 'pwn'. i will make it my new mission to reinstate OWN into netspeak!

To qoute skibb ' I WILL OWN YOU' pwn doesnt even have any vowls in it, and the only good work without vowls is 'sky' ... i like the sky!

Static was a great, easy going and fun loving member of the Cata community, who played in my time. During our time, if you went on raw skill and record/success vs. top players, Static/Rata/Skibb/MVB were probably the top 4 out there. There were about a top 20-30 who were all very similar in skill, but the 4 of us were probably the most consistently incapable of losing -- for the short while of about Oct/Nov '00 - March '01 (when I broke my CD, and I don't know what happened after that first-hand).

Interestingly, I don't know about Skibb or Rata, but haven't heard of them omgwtfpwning anything. Static told me last night he's never really pwned at anything as much as he did in Cata, b/c he just hasn't enjoyed anything that much since. I think I'm a pretty darned good warrior in WoW, but other than that TOTALLY UNPROVEN possibility, I've never been NEARLY as good relative to the game's community in another game as I was in Cata. Funny that the 4 of us held such a wild ego-driven run of insanity during early Cata, but haven't had similar runs in any games since.

Yo stealth! it's been the longest time man. so much has happened in the what... 4 years since i saw you last!!! been a bit crazy, am working now though as a research assistant (although, tbh - i do the research and my boss says 'hmmm, yes murdoch, so what do you think this means?' and then writes a paper to the affect of my answer and puts my name in the sub notes! haha!)

we never pwned cata, mvb, we owned it!

Diety was so funny, who was it: Me (Eden.Dy), you (Zeus.Dy - lol), skibb (Odin.Dy) ratamaq (Horus.Dy? an egyption god, i remember that much =/ ). Journier, snow and 2 others i dont remember also. LOL i can remember you and skibb argueing over who was the most powerfull god, went on for ages!! We started Dy with such good intentions, not a clan, but a sort to sort of 'school' some of the more rubbish players in a classroom of fire! were gonna make strat guides and game recordings and everything. Didnt work out that way though! for me and Journier it turned into a mad quest to own as many ppl as we could (lets face it, at the time - EVERYONE!). god! i will never forget that game...

Me and and rata were doing our missilyte missile double team at the start, skibb with his swarming/armour 3/mbf's. You with your unstopable EMP! Absolutely no communication, no co-operation, the only chat i remember was argueing over who would kill who... WE WERE OWNED! :toast: gg 9th

saying that, We got far better at working together after that.

So anyway, yeah so im fine stealth, how the fuck are you?

That was the glorious golden age of 9th when I invented the URR based on Tequilagurus leech rush, Ryoken invented the HPoD, and we owned almost everyone, including TWP, 7th, BDU, BiB and often even guru...

Sadly, I was not no. 1 in 9th's ladder when that game occurred so I was left out: I seem to recollect (since I was so pissed to miss the fight with the big guys Dy who had humiliated my noobiness when I first started to play, I remember it very well) that you played Ryoken, Grimwill, Frodo and another guy, maybe Hessi.

I dont think we would have went out of our way to belittle you for being new - well i dont think me, rata, skibb or mvb would. Unless you had gotten upity about losing - no one likes and upity noob! saying that.... Journier probably would have - god he made me laugh! But if we i/we did, then im sorry. god that game was harsh! But once skibb and mvb had finished disscussing who was the most powerfull God, and we had leanrt that we should probably work better as a team - we did OWN the best any clan had to offer! =]

btw, what is 'HPoD'?

does anyone remember Hyperspacing crystals to the enemies cs then popping it? fun.

I remember doing the recon trick to get a processor moving at recon speed :)

It got REALLY funny when you stuck a crystal on it and sent it zooming into their base.

No you didn't do anything wrong, it was just my overcompetitive self who didn't like losing. Sorry if I expressed myself in an unclear fashion.

HPoD was the acronym for "Hellish Pot of Death" if I remember well, it was a frig rush of sorts I think. It was not mine so I don't remember.

URR was a sentinel/mimic/swarm frig/leech/CS rush which owned for a time, but after a few weeks it became outdated.

I used to use: Processors (about 4-5 with repair and energy cannon later) With sentinols leeches rammer and CS rush. Man i loved the Advanced Engeneering module so much! =]

I never ever witnessed the speedy processor, bit after my time i think benny =[

it was funny as hell.

I think my best moment in cata was in a 2v2 on some huge ass custom map. My ally fought and died 1st, while I hit the other guy with 18 hives at the same time and wiped him out. Making it a 1 on 1.

I speeded back to my resourcers and covered them from the attack of the fleet that had taken out my ally, owned them since it was mostly frigs and hives just OWN everything frigate class and bigger. at which point I assembled my forces and moved off into an region of space where he wasn't, while I had recons out looking for him. Thus, que THE GREATEST MOMENT IN BENNY'S CATA HISTORY.

My recon find his resourcing op, 2 procs.. circa 20 workers. They immediately enter hyperspace b/c he KNOWS i'm going to be going after them. And Guess where they came out.

Thats right. about 2 FEET away from my massed fleet of hives/carriers/and cs. A COMPLETELY random jump on a HUGE map, and he lands quite litterally on my doorstep. 2 seconds later he was without an ru op :D , then I hunted his ass down and killed him.

It was either that or another time when I was fighting close combat with 2 other people using my CS as an assault ship. The beast was running away directly ahead of me, I finish my Seige (HAR), And procede to carefully aim and fire. I was always good with siege, and this one was directly on target.

Right before It hits the rear engins he says "NO! NOT UP THE ASS!"

Best moment in my Cata history? I am playing with a Paktu buddy (I became AramPaktu after 9th broke down) against gurus (I think ratama and some other guy, maybe Frost?).

After initial fight they have gone some weird DD/Dread/Processor+Repair and wiped out my noobish paktu buddy and his fleet. I have somehow managed to destroy one of their CSs with siege, and eliminated most of their resourcing ops, while fighting an hopeless battle with frigates and acos vs dreads and DDs. I have thousands and thousands of RUs, but since they do not lose ships while I lose tons and can still replace losses as they have a CS, the situation looks hopeless. My siege is useless too since they have repulse weapon.

Then I decide to jump in with CS and fire at point blank: full hit, boom, 2nd CS is out.

I flee through hyperspace with my damaged CS, retire frigate fleet and start to get mass mimics. They have filled their support points, and do not scuttle their fleet since they have no RUs. I pick their carriers off one by one. GG guru.

My best moment, i think was a very early game against 2 BDU dolts, against a newbie me and journier or matrix - cant remember. i think they were called mithrandir and manus but im not sure ... they were tossers anyway.

This was simply the most dirty game i have ever played. My opening move was to hyperspace a crystal at one of them (because they were pricks and i had no respect). He got away quite lightly considering, lost all his modules and half of his workers though. at roughly the same time TO MANY heavy covettes attacked my workers and did alot of damage (the other one of them had used the beast build bug =[ ) But luckily my parter was able to fight them off, my partner and the beast player fought it out for a bit, using very dodgey tatics while i built up... The other dude got a seige cannon somehow and a shot sounded on the sensors, i managed to pop a near by crystal, just in to deflect the seige shot... straight into my nealy rebuild workers. My parter had just managed to kill off the beast when The dude with a seige cannon hyperspaced right next to me... i looked at his glowing seige barrel and i knew i was finished, but atleast we will have won the game. WRONG!!! he hyperspaced at the last minute and when he was gone a molten ball of seige ownage apeared from thin air and hit me slam in the middle... tore my cs in two!

Was fun though.

p.s: papasmurf, when did octothorpe start playing games? =/

As a previous TLSC member, and much respected one at that, you would not need to re-apply for membership.

Your MIA status has now been upgraded to TLSC Veteran - as it always should have been :D

I seem to recall seeing a demo of reki where he shot his siege towards a group of ships, and an enemy dread repulsed it RIGHT into the guys MS (or whatever you call that thing). His words: "8 ball, corner pocket"

Best game I remember was with Journier, actually ...

We had 2 n00b teammates vs. 4 9ths I believe, 4 of 9th's best. We were both som, and basically Journ built up while I omgwtfpwned one of the 4 early on, while the other 3 built up and omgwtfpwned our 2 n00bs, who refused to play ball. So then it was a 3v2, but really b/c of how I moved I was out of position from journ and was basically supposed to move around the circle of the map and obliterate each one while journ and the 2 n00bs held 'em off on their flank. With the 2 n00bs dead, Journ was alone vs. 3 and that spelt trouble.

Journ got beat the hell up, and basically was dead, and handed me all his cash, but managed to survive a while longer to draw attention. Meanwhile, I used my siege/CS as one "army" and my acv/empers as another army, and managed to obliterate one guy, acv/emp/misso/kami another into almost dead, and then jump away from the third.

The 2 remaining, one started to rebuild, and the healthy one killed journ. About 15-20 minutes later and some nifty jump/siege work past the bar, and I was the last man standing. Hotness. My personal best game.

There was also a game where I killed Deathfang and Stealth by myself, but no biggie; there was a later game where the two of them managed to get revenge and doubleteam to kill me.
