Depends. MMO's are massive multiplayer online games. AKA you have to log into the game. You have a caecture in the world and allmost everyone else in the game are other real people. Lots of different typs. Scifi D and D like. just depends. You fight stuff and do quests to earn levals to make your caerecture more powerfull.
and yea you pay a monthly fee. Ranges from 9 to 15 dollars a month.

If you want to get your feet wet for the style of game play, consider Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR), KOTOR II PC will be out in Feb 2005. Also, Neverwinter Nights.

World of Warcraft has some disadvantages: $14.99/mo subscription fee AND $50.00 (sale $40) game price. You CANNOT play it unless you connect to their server, so... make your peace with it.

It's really good though, it has the content of probably 10*KOTOR and that was a huge game. Also having other people to interact with is a great deal of the fun, similar to HW2. Humans are always much more of a challenge than AI.

Yeah basically, Celtic. You control an individual character in the game, and go on quests, build up your character, etc. etc.

World of Warcraft is excellent, only drawback being 50 dollar game price, and 15/month (little more than half that in pounds, maybe 8-9?).

The game hosts multiple "servers" home to several thousand players each ... if you get world of warcraft, make sure you choose an Alliance character, in the Dalaran Server.

yeah, MMORPG stand for massive multiplayer online role playing game. It's a fairly normal role playing game, but with thousands of players playing and interacting together.
